As soon as we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. The fireplace was glowing, the house was beautifully presented with fresh flowers, in addition to a very warm welcome. Thanks again for organising a fabulous vacation in Whistler.

Ziptrek Ecotours

Ziptrek's unique eco-adventure tours are based around a series of canopy platforms, ziplines of varying height, length and speed, and an informative and entertaining eco-based curriculum. The canopy platforms sit nestled 70ft up in majestic Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock and Cedar trees. The ziplines range in length from 50ft to over 1000ft with a total combined length of over 1/2 a mile. The ecological knowledge guests gain from our informative guide team further enhances this dynamic, nature based, adventure journey.

Ziptrek has attracted guests ranging in age from 7 to 85 and includes everyone from individuals to corporate groups to families of all sizes! Young or old, athlete or couch potato, this is an adventure that is accessible to all and produces a similar effect over and over ? everyone enjoys themselves!

Quick Facts

  • Ziptrek has a total of five ziplines.
  • The first, the practice/training line, is short and low to the ground.
  • The remaining four ziplines gain progressively in height and length with the longest starting about 70ft up in an ancient Douglas Fir tree and traveling over 1000ft along and across the raging water of Fitzsimmons Creek.
  • Ziptrek lies less nestled in the valley between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. The course covers over 11 hectares (33 acres) of land and contains areas of untouched, ancient coastal temperate rainforest. This forest is home to the bear, cougar, hoary marmot and a plethora of other living creatures.
  • Ziptrek uses ziplines to cover a lot of difficult terrain and to access the forest canopy without damaging the environment like heavy foot traffic or mechanized vehicles.
  • The act of ziplining involves gliding along a suspended steel cable, using a pulley and climbing harness.
  • Ziplines are accessed from Cedar decks high up in the forest canopy.
  • Tour duration is approximately 2.5 hours, including a short shuttle by four-wheel drive van (and snow cat in winter) to and from Whistler Village
