Cat Skiing

Whistler Cat Skiing A day of catskiing is $479 Cdn +5% GST per person per day (no half days). Daily operation starting mid-December until the end of April. Just get in touch and we'll check availability on the dates you want.

Space is limited to twelve people per snowcat to ski and ride our backcountry terrain. Book as far in advance as possible to guarantee your spot, especially if you're bringing a group. Don't worry though, if you just found out about us and you're in Whistler right now, we can usually squeeze you in for the best powder day of your life, with as little as one or two days notice.

skiing/ snowboarding
A full day of backcountry skiing or snowboarding in our 4,300 acre ski area. An average day is 7,000 to 10,000 vertical feet with 6-10 runs being average. The record is 15 runs. Extra runs are included at no charge. We are here for the powder: the more you ski the happier we are. A full day is no less than 7,000 vertical feet of skiing.

transportation
Transportation in our 4X4 vans from Whistler Village to Powder Mountain Catskiing, and then back to Whistler Village at the end of the day. It's a 20 minute drive south from Whistler Village.

lunch & snacks
A gourmet deli style high mountain lunch, that is eaten between runs. Snacks and beverages are also on board to keep your energy up.

guiding & instruction
Two certified guides per group of 12 people. Your "Lead Guide" will always be in front of you choosing the safest route and the best snow for each run down the mountain. The "Tail Guide" will always be at the very end of the group. Having two guides ensures that everyone has the same experience and we can provide you with the safest skiing and riding possible. If some of your friends are learning to ride or ski powder, the guides are also certified instructors who can give pointers, making everyone's day more fun. Catskiing is an ideal place to learn to ski powder, learn to ski trees and work on your technique in general.

safety equipment & orientation
At times the backcountry can be a wild and unpredictable place, therefore we also include the use of transceivers and a mountain safety orientation session for your backcountry awareness.

vertical
Please Note: There is no extra charge for extra runs. If your group skis more runs, we are just as happy as you are. We are here for the skiing. Just like you. In the springtime you get more runs for the same money. This way, when you get in the cat in the morning you know there will be no surprise costs at the end of the day. This is not heliskiing where your day is "three runs" or "6 runs". At Powder Mountain we like to ski as possible everyday. The record is 15 runs in one day. The average is 6-10. It all depends on the group ability and snow conditions.
